The Dos and Don’ts of Packing for Coachella

The Dos and Don’ts of Packing for Coachella
Where’s all our festival babes?! Kicking off music festival season, Coachella is just around the corner with Weekend 1 on April 15-17, 2022 and Weekend 2 on April 22-24, 2022. Check out the line up to see who’s going to be joining Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and The Weeknd.

Night Concert at Coachella Music Festival

Spending the day in the music venue, visiting all the stages, hearing your favorite artists, and being with your besties is a blast at Coachella. Make sure not to get started off on the wrong foot at the gate. Double check Coachella’s full list of rules to know exactly what’s not allowed inside before you head out. You shouldn’t have to choose between throwing out your favorite tote bag or getting to Doja Cat in time.

What Not To Bring To Coachella

Along with the obvious no weapons, fireworks, or drugs, there’s a few other Don’ts you should be aware of when packing for Coachella. Most people know there’s no drones and no personal transportation devices allowed - that means leave behind your bikes, skateboards, and Birds. Here’s a few other items not allowed inside the venue that you might not think about:

    • No Coolers
    • No Aerosols (including spray sunscreen)
    • No Chairs (including folding or inflatable)
    • No Flashlights or Glow Sticks or Laser Pointers or LED Products
    • No Video Cameras or Professional Cameras (with detachable lenses) or Tripods or Selfie Sticks
    • No Hula Hoops or Water Guns or Kits or Stuffed Animals or Flags
    • No Flyers, Samples, Giveaways, Promotional Items

    2022 Update

Currently, there is no mask mandate or proof of vaccination required to attend Coachella 2022. However, this is subject to change if local guidelines change. Have your vaccination card and a mask on hand just in case. Better safe than sorry!

What You Definitely Should Bring To Coachella

Remember to pack sunglasses for Coachella

The desert sun in Palm Springs is hot, hot, hot. Protect yourself by bringing sunscreen (only pump or bottle, no aerosol), lip balm, a hat, and sunglasses. Stay hydrated in the heat by bring a reusable water bottle (plastic only and less than 40 oz.), a stylish bota bag, hydration pack, or even a water mister. Remember that these all need to be empty when entering the venue and filled up inside.

It also is a good idea to bring a backpack or purse (smaller than 20” x 15” x 9”), a beach towel, and hand sanitizer.

Binoculars might not be first on your list, but you can bring them along with ear plugs, eye drops, a parasol (but not an umbrella), and gum or mints to stay fresh after all those delicious eats (some critics even say Coachella is as much a food festival as a music festival).

But of course, the most important things to pack for Coachella are your outfits.

    Wear Your Best Coachella Outfit

Coachella is well-known for it’s boho-chic style, which makes perfect sense - loose-fitting, flowing comfort is ideal for desert weather. Make your outfit pop with a bright print, textured fabric, or totally unique accessories. Embrace your inner hippie while wearing something that will last all day in the sun and all night in the crowd. While long-lasting comfort is important to help you make it through the day, don’t forget about your style. I mean, this is selfie central!

One of the easiest ways to make sure your festival style is on point is by wearing something you don’t have to put a lot of effort into at the Coachella campgrounds before heading to the venue - something like henna tattoos. Henna tattoos will keep you carefree and stylish all weekend without having to worry about any extra maintenance. Plus, you’ll be so trendy that everyone who sees you will be jealous, asking who did it for you. When you shop with Mihenna, you’ll be able to tell them “I did it myself.”

    Pre-Coachella Henna Party

Before you head off to Coachella Valley, plan a henna night to create your festival look that will stay looking boho-chic the whole time. You can even go all out and plan a henna party with your whole Coachella crew. The best way to make sure you have everything you need is with our henna body art kits - they include a variety of sticker stencils, henna paste, coconut oil for aftercare, and an instructional booklet. Our sticker stencils are designed to give you a flawless henna tattoo even if you’ve never tried henna before. You don’t want wear anything less than the best to Coachella fest.

If you’re going for a hippie, flower child look during Coachella, consider one of our floral sticker stencils like the Flower Power henna stencil.
