Jagua Gel

Do you love tattoos but don't want something permanent? Then look no further. Our Jagua Gel will give you the most realistic tattoos that last up to 2 weeks!

Here's the good news: With our Jagua tattoo ink, you can create dark blue/black temporary tattoos that are natural and safe for your skin. Jagua gel is prepared from the Genipa Americana fruit powder and made in small batches.

Jagua has been widely used in Central and Southern American regions for centuries. It is a safer alternative to black henna and produces stunning black tattoo designs after an easy application.

Make your designs easily with Jagua ink, use a stencil, or get creative and freehand away! Buy Jagua from Mihenna for an all-natural gel with a stain that will not disappoint!

How to Use:

  • You can apply Jagua gel directly on the skin to create dark, realistic temporary tattoos.
  • Start by transferring Jagua gel to the applicator bottle. Screw on top + tip of choice, and you are ready to create!
  • Allow it to dry and wash off after 2-3 hours. The stain will be very faint at first.
  • The Jagua gel tattoos take up to 48 hours to reach their deepest color.
  • Please remember that the intensity and longevity of the stain depend on the length of time on the skin, location, and aftercare. Thus, results will vary from person to person.

Note:

Keep the jagua ink in the fridge when not in use. It will last for up to 3 months if stored correctly.

The gel is recommended for external purposes only. Use the Jagua gel only for body art.

Keep the gel away from children and pets. Contact the physician immediately if the gel gets into the eyes or is consumed accidentally.

The black Jagua henna tattoos gradually fade off with time. Wash the area frequently using warm water to speed up the removal process.

Where To Buy Jagua?

Are you wondering, “Where can I buy Jagua ink?” Get all-natural Jagua gel from Mihenna at the best prices. Create an intricate design, or buy our tattoo stencils for last-minute plans.

Note: Be careful of black henna, a popular cosmetic name for a product that instantly produces black tattoos. However, it is not made with natural henna powder and consists of a harmful chemical known as PPD that is detrimental to your skin.

Though Jagua paste is 100% natural, it may cause allergic reactions to sensitive skin or people with dermatitis, eczema, or other conditions.

Before attempting a large design, please do a patch test on a small skin patch to check for allergies & visible signs like redness, swelling, irritation, etc.

Frequently asked questions

Derived from the Genipa Americana fruit, the jagua powder is 100% organic, safe, and free from chemicals or added preservatives. It is recommended to do a skin patch test to check if you are allergic to the genipin component of the Genipa plant extract.

The reaction can happen towards the end of the life of the stain, therefore if you want to do a test patch, you must wait for about 2 weeks to make sure you don't have a reaction. For this reason, we decline to use jagua on the face, small children or pregnant women.

This product is not tested on animals and it does NOT contain PPD.

Our jagua is sourced straight from the farm and is produced chemical and pesticide free.

In Colombia, our supplier has developed a set of ingredients from the jagua fruit, which are used in products such as creams, makeup, and food.

The process of supplying raw materials for the production of these ingredients is carried out by linking 95 peasant and livestock families who have suffered violence and forced displacement in the Magdalena Medio region. This sustainable business model with triple impact (social, environmental, and economic) has generated new opportunities for these families, who now have an additional source of income while contributing to the conservation of 1,700 hectares of tropical forest under a payment for environmental services (PES) scheme in alliance with CORNARE (www.cornare.gov.co).

Our supplier guarantees that the production process is carried out in a sustainable and responsible manner, respecting the rights of workers and the environment.

Yes. When the henna paste includes jagua powder it creates a hengua paste and gives the red/brown stain a much darker intensity.

Recommended ratios for "hengua":

  • For a darker, faster-developing henna stain: use 0.25 oz/7g jagua per 1.76 oz/50g henna (1:7 by volume)
  • For a deep burgundy stain: use 0.53 oz/15g jagua per 1.76 oz/50g (1:3.5 by volume)
  • For a dark chocolate brown stain: use 0.88 oz/25g jagua per 1.76 oz/50g henna (1:2 by volume).

The initial Jagua tattoo will be pale blue-grey if it is visible at all. After several hours, the stain will darken noticeably and turn a deep blue-black in 12 to 48 hours.

Jagua tattoos will only last between 1 and 2 weeks, depending on location and how well you care for them. Because jagua is a dye that absorbs into your skin cells, the faster you lose skin cells, the faster your jagua stain will disappear. Here are some tips to make it last.

  • Before you apply the jagua gel, gently exfoliate.
  • Wash the area to remove your natural oils, and then fully dry your skin.
  • Once you remove the dry jagua, wash with warm soapy water!
  • Moisturize the area to keep your skin healthier for longer. We recommend using coconut oil to keep the area luscious.

Jagua will naturally become less effective over time.

The stain won’t be as dark, and ingredients may separate depending on how it is stored. Fortunately, there is no health hazard or danger related to expired jagua. You can easily extend the life of your jagua gel by storing it in the refrigerator for up to 3 months. Can be kept fresh in the freezer for up to 1 year.
