Atakapa Henna Stencil

Inspired by the tattoos of the Atakapa-Ishak Indians, our wrist cuff henna stencil invokes the traditions and tireless efforts of this tribe to overcome hardships, both past and present. Atakapa is pronounced "ah-tah-kah-pah" and comes from a Choctaw word meaning "man-eaters." Mihenna created this intricately detailed henna design to pass on the strength and power that has stood the test of time.

Our sticker stencils allow you to embrace the strength of the Atakapa without having to commit to a permanent tattoo. To create your temporary henna design, cut out the stencil pattern and press the sticker to your skin.

It will fit perfectly around your wrist or ankle but can be placed anywhere else you desire. Cover the stencil with henna paste and allow it to dry between two and twelve hours before peeling off the sticker. No. Henna tattoos will only last between 1 and 3 weeks, depending on location and how well you care for them. Because henna is a dye that absorbs into your skin cells, the faster you lose skin cells, the faster your henna stain will disappear. We’ve got some tips to make it last.

  • Before you get your henna paste applied, exfoliate. Get off as much dead skin from the area as you can.
  • Wash the area to remove your natural oils, and then fully dry your skin.
  • Avoid water for the first few hours. Don’t jump in the shower right after you get your tattoo.
  • After you have your gorgeous henna, do not exfoliate! Your dead skin cells will naturally fall off over time, but try not to accelerate the process.
  • Moisturize the area to keep your skin healthier for longer. We recommend using coconut oil to keep the area luscious.

All of our henna products are all-natural, free from harsh chemicals, and totally skin-safe.

Henna paste will naturally become less effective over time. The stain won’t be as dark, and ingredients may separate depending on what the henna is made out of.

Fortunately, there is no health hazard or danger related to expired henna. You can easily extend the life of your henna paste by storing it in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Prior to shipping, it takes 1 - 2 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) for orders to be processed, as our henna paste is freshly made to ensure the best quality.
